About My Clients
My client's are seeking Holistic ways to reduce anxiety, panic, post-traumatic stress disorder, and healing from childhood trauma. I work with adult women and men that have experienced childhood trauma helping them to break disruptive patterns that developed due to intergenerational abuse and neglect, and ending domestic violence patterns. I intimately understand how trauma destroys happiness and causes pain and suffering.
My Background and Approach
I completed my master’s degree in 2011 at Western Michigan University (WMU) with a major in clinical interpersonal practice social work geared towards research examining the dynamics of childhood trauma. In 2015 I received my certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Since then, I have helped hundreds of adults and their families with their recovery. I have the skills that are needed to diagnose, assess, and treat post traumatic stress disorder. My certificates as an Infant Family Specialist (IMH-E) and postpartum support specialist (PSI) has given me the expertise to treat pregnant women who suffer from depression during the stages of pregnancy and into postpartum periods, with a special focus on mother/infant bonding.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe that an individual’s spiritual well-being affects their mental health immensely. That’s why I believe that it is essential to integrate science and spirituality incorporating Whole-Person Healing-through into the therapy process. Christian counseling often seeks to address real life problems through biblical principles. Things such as reading the Bible, saying prayers, faith-based mediating, and incorporating Christian values and other spiritual practices can help you to find meaning in your life.
