About My Clients
Are you tired because you can't turn your mind off? Does the anxiety come out of nowhere? Are other making comments even though you act as if you are in control? Maybe your stomach hurts. Maybe you feel like you are in a hamster wheel. You feel out of control. You have been thinking about counseling for a while and haven't taken the step. Counseling can help and it doesn't last forever. Virtual sessions are different initially; however, I have received positive feedback and seen results.
My Background and Approach
Most of career was spent at a clinic serving teen and adults survivors of abuse. Sharing personal information with a stranger is hard. Explaining the process, being curious about your interests and setting goals works. I believe in collaborating with you and also know counseling takes some work. Not everyone chooses to seek therapy. It's an investment in yourself as you learn about yourself and tools you can use to manage your different feelings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Here are some lessons learned throughout my career: 1) Counseling with the right counselor is powerful. This requires some work to find a good fit. 2) Counseling can include some laughter. 3) A support system is key in life and in the counseling process. 4) Incorporating what your client likes can make a huge difference. 5) Give good and bad feedback to your counselor. 6) Counseling is a process. Change doesn't happen overnight.
