My Background and Approach
Throughout my career, I have specialized in providing crisis intervention services and long term support to individuals who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse, and other sources of trauma. It was through my role as a Victim Advocate that I discovered my passion for helping adults, children, and families to cope with life's challenges. While working in that role, I gained experience in working with individuals who struggle with Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, Grief and Loss, Codependency, Self-Harm, Suicidal Ideation, and more. My approach to therapy is client centered and strengths based. Given that each person's strengths and challenges are unique, treatment planning is individualized for each client. I hope to help each client to nurture a positive sense of self, to learn new coping skills, and to empower my clients to achieve any goal that they set for themselves.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I take great pride in advocating for my clients, especially those who belong to marginalized populations with lesser access to cost-effective and affirming mental health care, such as communities of color and the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Everyone deserves a safe space to be authentically themselves. I hope to provide that safe space to every person that I meet, in my personal and my professional life.
