About My Clients
Therapy is a process and we will go at your pace. I have worked in a variety of settings including adult and child psychiatric hospitals, substance use and recovery, private practice, community therapy services, and an alternative school for teenagers. I have also worked with couples and families and studied marriage and family therapy while in graduate school. I am open to working with individuals who are experiencing depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm, and relationship concerns.
My Background and Approach
Although I practice therapy through a variety of modalities, I generally pull interventions and techniques through person-centered therapy, Family Systems theory, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive behavior therapy. My approach is that you, as the client, know your own life better than I do and I ensure the treatment and goals are approved by you before we continue into the therapeutic process. Lastly, I believe in the power of referrals. What this means is if we decide my therapeutic approach is not effective, I will provide you with a list of therapists who may be a better fit clinically for you and your goals.
