About My Clients
I work with people who struggle with anxiety, eating disorders, chronic health conditions, women's issues and trauma.
My Background and Approach
I typically use EMDR and Dialectical Behavioral-Therapy (DBT) while also incorporating aspects of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-centered therapy. We not only need to learn skills to cope but we also need unlearn in order to grow. When we go through trauma or significant struggles, it impacts how we perceive the world and ourselves. We may end up talking negatively to ourselves or ruminating on intrusive thoughts. These thoughts can lead us to feel many emotions, such as, anxiety, depression, and shame. We may find ourselves using unhealthy coping skills to deal with life's stressors. Overtime, this can become mentally exhausting. I can work with you to understand these thought patterns and identify healthy coping skills. *Only providing telehealth services*
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Growing up with a chronic invisible illness I recognize that mental and physical health go hand in hand. I have also dealt with an eating disorder and went through my own treatment in the past. I have had anxiety my whole life and intrusive thoughts. My own personal experiences of dealing with these struggles I recognize that there may be some shame, you may feel alone at times, you may feel that it is similar to a toxic friend, and you may feel that you just want some sense of control. You may also find yourself comparing yourself to others who do not need to deal with the everyday challenges. It is important to note that you are not alone. There are things still within your control and you can accept what is outside of your control and be able handle whatever comes at you. I truly believe we all have an inner resilience we just need to uncover it and embrace it.
