About My Clients
Do you feel as if your life has a “before” and “after?” Do you feel stuck, like you can’t shake what has happened to you or to your relationships? I would love the opportunity to help you make sense of your story and build the tools you need to move forward. I love working with teenagers, adults, and couples with trauma/PTSD, relationship issues, anxiety, and issues related to disabilities.
My Background and Approach
I use a mix of styles in my practice, primarily person-centered, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), as I want to take your lead on what it is you need and personalize therapy to your unique situation. I completed Level 2 training of Gottman Method Couples' Therapy, one of the leading evidence-based couples' therapy approaches to provide either you as an individual or you and your partner a variety of tools to help your relationship thrive.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an ally and advocate for the blind/visually impaired community. My spouse is blind, and through his experiences I have learned to challenge my beliefs, grown in empathy, learned about ableism and challenged it within myself and my community, and learned to use my position as a therapist to advocate for equality for all. One of the ways I engage in advocacy is through membership in National Federation of the Blind.
