About My Clients
Many new moms (really good moms!) have been exactly where you are right now. It is normal to doubt yourself or feel lost as a new mother. You may find that you miss your “old self” and wonder if you will ever feel normal again. Or you may have trauma from your birth experience that makes it hard for you to bond with your baby. Anxiety, depression, guilt, and overwhelming emotions are all common during the first year postpartum. I want to partner with you to increase your confidence as a mother.
My Background and Approach
My goal is to bring a compassionate listening ear, a research-backed approach to attachment-focused parenting, and a wealth of experience in the therapeutic modalities of EMDR and CBT to every therapeutic relationship. I specialize in postpartum depression and anxiety, birth trauma, NICU parenting, infant loss and miscarriage, and secondary trauma. I have a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a bachelor's from the University of Notre Dame.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist and “scrunchy” mom of two, I am passionate about working with new mothers during the prenatal and postpartum periods to increase your joy in motherhood and address any roadblocks to your desired attachment with your baby. I understand that this journey can be overwhelming, but you don't have to face it alone. My goal is to work collaboratively with you, offering a safe and non-judgmental space to explore your feelings and develop strategies for healing.
