About My Clients

My clients are teens and adults who are experiencing stress or conflict in their important relationships. Sometimes they come alone to figure things out for themselves, sometimes they come with those people with whom they’re experiencing conflict to try and find resolve together. I am honored to work with many folks through their experiences of dealing with trauma, identity changes/exploration, family changes (such as divorce/remarriage), and life transitions.

How I Can Help You

I am a systemic therapist, meaning I view each of us as existing within various systems - family systems, cultural systems, social systems, political systems - all of which impact who we are, how we think, and the ways we behave. In session, I am process oriented and will work with you to build insight and understanding. We will identify and build upon the strengths you already have to address the issues you are facing. I will work with you to create a safe, comfortable space free of judgment to explore all parts of yourself and whatever may be bringing you to therapy. My style of therapy is structured, but relaxed. In session, I welcome humor and authenticity, challenging and respect. You can expect a warm, direct presence, compassion, and accountability in each session as we work together to meet your therapy goals. My clients typically express feeling able to show up authentically, be seen in all of their own beautiful chaos, and end the session feeling more settled and hopeful.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone has the capacity to create change within themselves and their lives and therapy is an avenue for support in doing so. Further, it's my belief we all benefit from the support, accountability, and insight afforded through the therapy process. I strive to be an ally to all and use my privilege to welcome and amplify the voices of those with less privilege. I am continually growing from my interactions with those around me and consider myself a lifelong learner. ---What I believe about therapy--- Life has ups and downs. Therapy helps us learn to ride, not avoid, the waves. | We each have the capacity to create change within ourselves and our lives; therapy is an avenue for support in doing so | Social justice issues, political issues, and cultural issues are therapy issues. We cannot exist outside the influence of these things and ignoring them in the name of comfort is a disservice to all, especially minority populations. | You can do hard things; you already are.
