About My Clients
Do you suffer from anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem? Is parenting stressing you out? Are you struggling in a relationship? All of these issues can make life difficult. Whether you are looking for individual therapy, family therapy, or couples counseling, I want to help you get results. Together we can help you find relief, feel more peaceful, content, and confident, and build a brighter future. I also offer a sliding scale for those in need, to make therapy accessible to all.
My Background and Approach
We will work together to help you by first identifying where you are struggling and what you would like to achieve from therapy. From there we can establish goals and create a plan. I have experience in working with individuals, children, and families. Often one person is considered to be "the problem" but usually it is the interactions between individuals and not an individual themselves that creates the issues. Improving communication and understanding can help to improve the situation in general. I also have extensive training in couples therapy and believe it takes commitment from both parties to improve the relationship. If you want to make progress and achieve goals, you have to be all in.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We are all affected by trauma in a different way, but I believe that if you want to change and are open to it you can. I know I did. I had my own share of trauma in the past that led to shame, guilt and anxiety stemming from perfectionism, which is often linked to trauma. Guilt and shame can leave you stuck and unable to make progress. But over the course of my therapy, I found relief that was life-changing, transformational, and positive. My wish is for everyone to share that experience. I believe that those in marginalized populations have additional challenges from our society. I have multiple friends and family members in the LGBTQIA community and support and respect their choices and admire their courage to be their true selves. If I can offer you help and support, please reach out.
