About My Clients
My clients have many struggles and various backgrounds. Some of these issues range, but are not limited to: anxiety, major depression, ADHD, low self-esteem, family conflict, trauma, childhood abuse, borderline personality, difficulties with regulating emotions, anger, OCD, panic disorder, panic attacks. Many of my clients seek telehealth therapy sessions due to busy life schedules, and some of my clients prefer in person sessions.
My Background and Approach
Hello, thank you for taking the time to view my profile My name is Mindy, I am a licensed mental health therapist in Ohio since 2018, providing both in-person and telehealth services. My clients have a range of diagnoses, including more common depression, anxiety, to less common mood disorders and personality disorders. I prefer to meet the client where they are in the healing process, and treat them based on their own unique symptoms and circumstances. I provide both a structured and non judgmental, laid back environment for my clients, so that they can feel comfortable enough to discuss difficult topics and feel supported. I predominately utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral therapy, with a strong focus on radical acceptance, self-awareness/mindfulness, assertive communication, identifying cognitive distortions, increasing self-esteem, regulating emotions, relationship issues, and general talk therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that there is not a one size fits all approach. I believe in being transparent and honest with clients and I also try my best to help the client feel comfortable enough with me to feel that they can be as well. I believe building trust with me/therapists takes time, and I believe meeting the client where they are is crucial. I also believe that many times validating and providing a listening ear is crucial and is often the first step in overcoming any obstacles. I do believe our experiences shape who and how we are, and unfortunately those experiences aren't always the most positive. I do believe however, that we can overcome and fix these thoughts and behaviors that may stem from our negative experiences, with consistency and learning the correct coping skills that fits the client best.
