About My Clients
If you can't seem to communicate & feel like your relationship is more like a roommate situation (or a war zone), work with me. I help couples: (1) De-escalate arguments before they spiral, (2) Communicate without emotional landmines & (3) Become closer to each other. If you're a teen or adult who wants to work in 1:1 therapy on confidence, self-esteem, or self-love, I help people of all ages: (1) feel better about themselves; (2) set stronger boundaries, and (3) find a way forward, with ease.
My Background and Approach
I am compassionate and embody a no-nonsense, solution and emotionally focused style of therapy. In working with me, we will focus on what matters most to you and do so as efficiently as possible — while mapping out practical next steps. I have trained in the Gottman Method of couple’s therapy, shadow work, mindful awareness, embodied sexuality, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I have also received clinical training in working with addiction, dual diagnosis, domestic violence, and family-focused therapy. I obtained my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Pepperdine University. My prior experience as a lawyer informs my work as a therapist. Practicing law for 14 years taught me how to navigate high-stakes conversations, listen carefully to multiple perspectives & help people find clarity in the midst of chaos. I bring that same focus (plus savvy negotiation skills) to therapy, blending directness with a no-nonsense approach.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that life presents us with obstacles to help us grow. Our toughest challenges are our greatest teachers. And yet, we are not meant to face our challenges alone. I became a therapist after having a successful career as a lawyer, because I experienced first hand how having the support of a trusted guide in our darkest times makes a world of difference. In therapy, I will work as hard as you do to conquer your deepest issues. I will offer you helpful tools, call you out when you are avoiding facing things, and hold a compassionate lens, so you can experience a better way to be going forward.
