My Background and Approach
"When we are no longer able to change a situation . . . we are challenged to change ourselves." [Viktor Frankl] He really knew what he was talking about. Each life transition inevitably forces us to navigate unchartered waters, but sometimes the challenge can be overwhelming. As a seasoned therapist, I like to think that I help people feel empowered, find meaning, and reclaim their lives. Like most therapists, I have worked in many areas while gaining vast experience in crisis stabilization, forensics, child abuse, anxiety, and chronic illness. My approach is simple. We try to identify the issues causing the most distress, create a plan to address those issues, and continually update that plan. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure Response Prevention.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone should have a safe place to unravel their feelings without judgment and that everyone should have access to mental health care. That is why I support mental health insurance parity and portability of the mental health credentials between all 50 states.
