About My Clients

Are you often consumed with worry or sadness? Do past traumas weigh on you? I am experienced in supporting adults of all ages struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, and low self-esteem. Many people try to find ways of coping by numbing feelings, or avoiding parts of themselves that are hard to face. I am here to support as people work toward healing emotional wounds, deepening self awareness, self-compassion, and developing healthy, effective coping skills.

My Background and Approach

I believe a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship is necessary to the therapeutic process, and prioritize cultivating a sense of safety and rapport with my clients. I offer a non-judgmental space in which people feel validated, heard, and receive compassion and empathy. I use an eclectic blend of therapy modalities, and tailor therapy to each individual's needs, pacing the therapeutic process thoughtfully. I believe our feelings provide us with information about ourselves, our needs, and our sometimes subconscious beliefs, and have seen many times that when we shift away from judging certain feelings as "bad", "unwanted" or "unacceptable", we are better positioned to understand our feelings and their origins, and therefore better able to understand ourselves. I am here to support as people work toward healing emotional wounds, deepening self-awareness, self-compassion, and developing healthy, effective coping skills.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe engaging in the therapeutic process takes courage, and that to allow yourself to feel and express vulnerable emotions is an act of strength. I believe we are born with rich inner resources, and that traumas and attachment ruptures over time can make it harder to access those resources. I have also seen and personally experienced therapy as a great tool for helping us regain connection to these healing qualities within ourselves. I do not believe people are "all good" or "all bad", rather I believe we are all complex beings. I value vulnerability, creativity, honestly, curiosity, compassion, and genuine connection. I am a deep believer in the value of finding and engaging in activities that allow us to experience "flow state"-- whether that is through exercise, listening to music, working on a challenging project, gardening, or creative expression. I am LGBTQIA+ allied and racial justice allied.
