About My Clients
Clients who come willingly and with specific goals make great change and experience increased resiliency when faced with difficult moments. I enjoy helping adolescents navigate the complexities of social situations and life changes. I also thrive in supporting parents who want to up their game with their children. Parenting is hard, and the playbook is always changing. I love a good challenge and partners who want to put in the work and celebrate the little wins along the way.
My Background and Approach
During sessions we’ll collaboratively discover what’s working for you while pinpointing what’s not. Through an honest, open relationship we’ll partner to make meaningful, long-lasting changes that have a positive impact on your thoughts, feelings and behaviors, culminating in new, healthier habits. I utilize CBT and solution-focused techniques which I pass on to you so that they serve a purpose out in the real world. In parenting sessions, I pull from Dr. Ross Greene's Collaborative and Proactive Solutions model which focuses on opening lines of communication between adults and children in a way that everyone feels valued, heard and willing to work together. Whether it's partnering with you to reach your individual goals, or helping you collaborate with your child, my goal is always to help you sharpen the tools you already have and develop additional skills which will help you navigate the inevitable day-to-day challenges that arise in our busy lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I love musicals and every once in a while, a performance hits in a different way, and I realize that I needed that experience more than I could have imagined. A song that tells a great story, passionate performers who allow the audience to temporarily escape reality and live theater help me recharge and stay connected to so many of the life experiences that are so much bigger than me. I love working with artists, performers and those who are passionate about whatever they do. In addition to my love for broadway, I'm a huge fan of tap dance. I sit on the board of a non-profit tap dance company that strives to educate and share the rich, ever evolving history of rhythm tap dancing in America. Any day that I can take a tap class, my cup is full and a little extra love pours out of my soul.
