My approach to anger management is about moving beyond simple suppression, framing anger as a signal for underlying unmet needs or hurt. We will focus on personal accountability, empathy, increased internal feelings of control and emotional awareness. Instead of treating anger as an uncontrollable reaction, my approach views it as a way to defend against vulnerable or unconscious feelings like fear, hurt, or shame.

Using an integrative framework, we will explore underlying and unconscious relationship patterns, emotional disconnection, and the root causes of recurring conflict or difficulty. This deeper understanding is paired with concrete, practical tools designed to improve relational skills in daily life such as assertiveness and communication skills to improve our effectiveness and how we feel navigating close relationships.

My approach to treating anxiety is warm, straightforward, collaborative, and practical. Using an integrative framework, I merge depth-based practices (like psychodynamic and attachment theory) to explore the root causes of worry, such as perfectionism or unconscious patterns, with present-moment behavioral interventions (ACT, mindfulness). Together, we build your ability to tolerate discomfort, regulate emotions, and live more in the present moment so you can feel grounded and in control.

My expertise in couples counseling is rooted in my clinical experience working in abuse intervention and facilitating group therapy centered around improving relationship with others and focusing on healthy relationships. That experience has been valuable and informed my work with couples to be able to understand and navigate discontinuing unhealthy dynamics and ineffective relational patterns and replace them with healthy and effective ones.

My expertise in anger management is grounded in clinical training from Allies in Change, where I facilitated men’s and women's groups, worked with individuals and received specialized instruction in abuse intervention, men’s issues, and anger management. My work is heavily rooted in The Allies’ Model, an approach centered on personal accountability, self-awareness, and empathy.

Through this experience, I am skilled at recognizing subtle, unhealthy interaction patterns such as defensiveness, indirect communication and escalation, and intervening directly. I guide couples toward healthy communication, mutual accountability, and effective ways of showing up in the relationship.
