About My Clients

Do you feel like your mind races so much that you bounce from one thing to another without finding relief or resolution? I help individuals and couples feel a lot less anxious so that they can live with an inner calm and confidence in their communication and meet challenges without lashing out or breaking down. Chronic anxiety can disconnect you from loved ones and interfere with work. I can help you recognize and diminish the self-defeating behaviors that create the snowball effect .

My Background and Approach

I use best practices such as CBT, DBT and Mindfulness Based Stress-Reduction to help you steady the chatter in your head and feel peace in being your genuine self without the strain and effort of the “what ifs?” I can help you build lasting strategies that you can take with you from your sessions and put into everyday practice. We will use our time together to learn from that practice so you leave each session with a game plan. I am direct and results-oriented so that you know the benefit of your therapy and can put what you learn about yourself into action. What's the point of therapy if nothing changes in your life? I focus on your discovering your unique patterns of stress and the warning signs that trigger your anxiety. You’ll learn to recognize your progress by your improved relationships.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe genuine connection and supportive relationships are the focal point of good mental health and well-being. If you practice compassion, self-awareness and respect for yourself, it's second-nature for you to interact with others this way. Much of anxiety, especially in relationships, stems from wanting to control something "out there" to feel happy within. It just doesn't work that way. When you fix yourself, you are better able to tolerate difference and change. I can teach you tools to pinpoint and take action where you can make a difference and to accept what you cannot change. Just because we lack total control does not mean we are helpless. It’s the feeling helpless that makes us feel anxious. I can help you learn to calm yourself, so that you can better tolerate the unpredictable and be at your most effective.
