About My Clients
I work with children, teens, and adults to treat issues related to self-esteem, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation/gender identity, depression, loneliness, anxiety, trauma, academic stress, relationships, and communication.
My Background and Approach
I approach psychotherapy with cultural humility and a growth mindset. As a South-Asian woman continuing to navigate the nuances of my bi-cultural identities, I appreciate the contributions of complex sociocultural issues to an individual’s sense of self, holistic well-being, and meaning in life. I use play and narrative therapy techniques to teach children emotion regulation and healthy coping. I also use attachment-based, strengths-based, and solution-focused modalities to encourage teens and adults to recognize their needs and strengths. Overall, I strive to create a safe and brave space in which you feel empowered to explore and redefine your intersecting identities and experiences. Through guidance and collaborative work, you will learn how to advocate for yourself and feel more prepared to take on life's challenges.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. There is great power in sharing our stories loud and with pride. I am especially passionate about helping Asian communities advocate for themselves as they balance the expectations that come with being "model minorities".
