About My Clients
Are you a new parent and struggling with anxiety, depression or attachment/bonding? Have you found out recently that you are expecting, but are concerned about how you are going to balance it all? Becoming a parent, and adjusting to parenthood can be stressful, especially when you have opinions from others about what is the "right" thing to do for yourself, your child and your family. I am trained in perinatal mental health practices and look forward to helping you adjust to parenthood.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from SUNY Oswego with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I then attended Syracuse University and obtained a Certificate of Advanced Study in Trauma-Informed Practice. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor meaning that I have completed necessary education and training to meet national standards in counseling. I have certification and training in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C), Substance Use Disorders (CASAC-AC) and Trauma (CCTP). I have a particular interest in working with individuals who may have been previously diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. I strive to be Trauma-Informed and want our sessions to be collaborative. I work toward goals WITH my clients and make sure that we are on the same page every step of the way. It is extremely important that my client's boundaries and best interests are protected and respected.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I currently volunteer for a local post-trauma response team providing therapeutic responses in the community to traumatic events. I also volunteer on a community trauma task force, where our mission is to educate others about trauma and how to interact with individuals who have experienced trauma. I accept and welcome all to reach out to me for therapy. I am passionate about spreading understanding and knowledge about trauma, perinatal mental health and individuals within the neurodivergent community.
