About My Clients
I work with couples and adult women with issues such as trauma, self-worth, setting and maintaining boundaries, communication skills, parenting, attachment, anxiety, and depression.
My Background and Approach
I have a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, which focuses on the relational nature of the connection. I work from the belief that we are social beings who are affected by intergenerational patterns that create chronic anxiety and heartache in relationships. Change and growth are possible! My compassionate and direct approach could help you heal and learn skills important for healthy relationships with yourself and with others. I am also trained in EMDR, which addresses the lingering effects of traumatic experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a devoted Christian, I approach everything I do as a disciple of Christ. Additionally, I have been married for 33 years and we have 5 children. The wisdom and skills I have learned enhance my ability to identify with the struggles of clients and to offer a mature perspective on healthy relational functioning. In my free time, I love to cycle the roads of our hilly city, knit, hang out with family and friends, and watch murder mysteries. I volunteer at church wherever I am needed.
