About My Clients

We specialize in the intersection of trauma treatment and health psychology, emphasizing the powerful connection between mind and body. We provide compassionate, evidence-based care for adults coping with trauma, chronic pain, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, and life transitions or adjustment. Our services also include comprehensive psychological assessments for ADHD, ASD, and diagnostic clarification to promote deeper understanding and lasting healing.

My Background and Approach

I’m Megan Strickland, LPC, owner and Clinical Director of Thrive Psychological Services LLC. I’m completing my PhD in Clinical Psychology with a Health Psychology emphasis and currently serve as a Psychology Resident at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN, with anticipated graduation in August 2026. My clinical training includes experience at Penn Medicine Princeton Health, where I provided integrated behavioral health services within medical settings, supported psycho-oncology patients, and offered interventions for chronic pain and health-related adjustment. I’ve also conducted hospital-based consults addressing trauma, medical decision-making, and emotional adjustment to illness and injury. My work is grounded in the belief that emotional and physical health are deeply interconnected. I strive to help clients understand this mind-body link, reduce distress, and cultivate resilience and meaning in the face of life’s challenges.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Outside of my clinical work, I value authenticity, compassion, and connection—both in and out of the therapy space. I’m passionate about reducing mental health stigma and advocating for trauma-informed, inclusive, and accessible care. I strongly support LGBTQIA+ affirming practices and believe that everyone deserves a space where they feel seen, respected, and supported in their identity and healing. Personally, I find balance through hiking near the water with my bernedoodle, making homemade pasta, and reading psychological thrillers. I bring these same values of curiosity, mindfulness, and presence into my work with clients, fostering a warm and collaborative space for growth and healing.
