About My Clients

We may be a good fit if you are tired of yo-yo dieting, obsessing over food and eating, and hating your body. It feels like you have a lot of emotions and don't know how to control them. You may be struggling with disordered eating, relationship issues, suicidal thoughts, self-harm behaviors, self-esteem issues, or a combination. You are tired of these cycles and want to learn new techniques to help you live your life. I know these cycles well and love helping people break free of them!

My Background and Approach

I know well the evidence-based approaches that can help you break free of cycles of disordered eating and emotional dysregulation. I have nearly a decade of training in treating eating disorders, body image distress, and emotion regulation problems. I primarily use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which is a treatment aimed to help people their life worth living. Using DBT, I help people learn new skills and techniques to learn how to regulate their emotions and move toward what they want. We will identify your goals, figure out together what is getting in the way, and I'll teach you new skills and techniques to try to help you move toward your goals and values. I collaborate with you to figure out what works and to make sure you feel heard and like you are making progress.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that it is important that I have also tried and use the techniques I teach you. Because of that, I consistently use the skills I teach for emotion regulation and eating behaviors. This has been really helpful in my work because I know how it feels to use the techniques I teach, I know ways to make them more accessible, and I know ways they might be helpful to others. I also strongly believe in Health at Every Size® (HAES) and anti-diet principles which have been life-changing for me personally and for people I work with. I believe it’s essential to acknowledge the impact of systems of oppression, like racism, sexism, fatphobia, and ableism, on mental health. I incorporate discussions of oppression in therapy and am committed to ongoing learning and engagement in anti-oppressive practice.
