About My Clients

Are you new to therapy? Or have you been to therapy but haven't found a therapist that "clicks" with you because they use clinical jargon or listen quietly and only give you a lot of "mhmms" ? The clients I work best with are looking for someone who brings their authentic self to the therapeutic relationship. People finding themselves engaging in self-destructive behaviors and not fully understanding why. Or people who feel lost or stuck and can't seem to make the progress they wish to make.

My Background and Approach

I use a trauma-informed, mindfulness-based approach along with psychoeducation to help you better understand yourself, as well as what is keeping you stuck so you can better navigate the challenges you are facing. I feel strongly about building and maintaining a therapeutic relationship that is collaborative and equal, so my clients feel seen and heard in a judgment-free zone. My clinical background is in Addictions treatment; I worked in substance abuse treatment facility for 5 years. During that time, I gained extensive experience in trauma, family conflict, relationship issues, and mood disorders. I often use parts of self work and can help you approach the hurt and "broken" parts of yourself with compassion so they no longer take over and lead you to continue to act in ways that don't serve you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

“I believe every person has the potential for change. I have witnessed powerful healing and growth in my presence. Being a therapist is truly a gift and I feel privileged to help everyone who steps into my office. I believe that therapy should be a safe space that will always remain confidential. I believe that therapeutic relationships are naturally healing. And even though what we talk about is important, I know that the relationship itself does a lot of the work. While I believe that depression and sadness is a natural part of life, I don’t think it should come saddled with shame and guilt. When I was younger I had a hard time being honest and congruent with how I felt inside. And that is what initially attracted me to this work. I believe that being free from fear and shame is a human right. If you are fed up with feeling bad and you’re ready to feel relief, I want you to contact me so that we can work together to create a better life for you.
