As a highly sensitive person myself, I understand how sensitivity has been devalued in our society and creates a feeling of shame for many of us. I support clients in embracing their authentic selves and learning to work with their unique gifts- there is so much value in being a sensitive person! I can support you developing a greater understanding of your emotions and how to use emotional information as a resource for understanding and meeting your emotional needs.
I currently offer an online course titled "A Wild New School" that is part of a collaboration with career coach Megan Leatherman. This can be a wonderful addition to therapy or coaching for individuals undergoing career transitions. My mindfulness coaching series can also help support greater mindfulness and self-care in your life and career!
I incorporate Positive Psychology and coaching techniques into my therapy sessions with clients as a way of focusing on what clients want in their lives as opposed to what they don't want. Coaching helps clients tap into their intrinsic motivation and set personal goals around what's important in their lives. I now offer a 6 session coaching series for individuals who prefer the action-oriented approach of a coaching model to traditional therapy.

Coaching helps clients tap into their motivation and joy and set personal goals around what's important in their lives.
Humanistic therapy describes my overall approach to therapy in that my relationship with clients is a collaborative one. I believe that acceptance and empathy are essential to the therapeutic relationship and that therapy goals should be directed by clients.
I have training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and am excited to incorporate more mindfulness and somatic awareness into my therapy practice. I've found mindfulness practices to be extremely useful for clients in managing anxiety and coming back to the present moment when they are stuck in cycles of negative internal dialogue. I incorporate mindfulness into sessions but also offer suggestions for clients to take away and practice on their own.
Personal growth is always a part of therapy but not always at the forefront of therapy goals. I incorporate concepts from positive psychology and life coaching with clients in order to assist them in identifying what they want out of life rather than focusing on what they don't want- this is the part of therapy where you get to explore what inspires you! I use somatic (bodily) awareness to help clients make decisions based on following their joy.
I've worked extensively with clients who have generalized anxiety to integrate their anxious feelings as a loved and accepted part of the self. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness based stress reduction and somatic awareness to assist clients in understanding their anxiety and their personal needs in times of stress and overwhelm. I demonstrate mindfulness techniques in sessions that can easily be incorporated into your life outside of therapy.
