My Background and Approach
I have 7 years of experience working with parents, children, and families. I work with my clients to make an individualized plan to meet their specific goals, rather than using a "cookie cutter" approach. Tools I often use include Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Child-Parent Psychotherapy, but we may choose to utilize other tools as well. It's okay if you are unfamiliar with these methods - part of our process with be to discuss your options and what they may entail, treatment recommendations I may have, and conversations around what you'd like to try. We will utilize online sessions to ensure we are able to meet your scheduling needs, and can plan for a comfortable environment tailored to your needs and support a feeling safety.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all have the capacity for growth and healing within us. As humans, we are designed to be resilient and survive the unimaginable. Through a therapeutic connection and built safe space, you can overcome the obstacles life has thrown at you, no matter how big or how many. I believe that silence and isolation keep people stuck. I am passionate about open communication around uncomfortable topics like suicidality, difficult emotions, and stigmatized groups. As the clinician, when a client shares information like this with me, I believe in exploring, discussing, and engaging in thoughtful planning, rather than knee-jerk reactions.
