About My Clients
My primary clients at this time are experiencing difficulties with their life as a result of a disorder of the brain-gut interaction, such as IBS and persistent nausea, however they are also experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and much more. My clients are ready and willing to overcome their distress, and I'm ready and motivated to help them improve through whatever personalized treatment they need!
My Background and Approach
I am currently licensed in the states of New York, Michigan, Illinois, Virginia, South Carolina, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. I have experience treating numerous conditions including anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I've worked as a DBT, RO-DBT, co-occurring, and CPT therapist. I use a CBT, mindfulness, and a clinical hypnosis approach in my current treatment. I am currently primarily helping clients with disorders of the gut-brain interaction while also treating any difficulties that might be causing such as social anxiety, avoidance of activities once enjoyed, and chronic pain.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
While much of my knowledge was gained in school, the majority of my understanding of working with different types people comes from my own personal struggles with many of the disorders I treat and how I simply am in my personal life. My personal belief is that the client is the expert of their own lives, which has been reinforced by my own experience as a client. Humans are complex! And therefore I highly value treating each client as an individual with individualized needs. I also value the relationship between the client and therapist as I see us as a team, working to overcome or win against anything causing you distress, and at the same time, we're both two humans connecting over what brings you to therapy and the knowledge and skills I have to share with you. I love the work I do and am continually motivated to learn more so that I can help more and more people.
