In sessions with children, I use play therapy to create a safe and supportive environment where they can express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences through play. This approach allows children to communicate in their natural language, helping me to better understand their inner world and address emotional or behavioral challenges. Through guided play, I facilitate healing, build coping skills, and promote emotional growth in a developmentally appropriate way.

I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help clients develop emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I teach techniques such as mindfulness to increase awareness, skills for managing intense emotions without reacting impulsively, and strategies to improve communication and relationships. This approach supports clients in building resilience and coping with challenging situations more effectively.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns and work to reframe them in more constructive ways. I guide clients through practical skills—such as cognitive restructuring, problem-solving, and behavior activation—that they can apply in real-life situations to manage anxiety, build coping strategies, and improve emotional regulation.

My experience working across multiple levels of care with adolescents has given me a deep understanding of the stressors they face and how to effectively address the unique challenges of this developmental stage.

My background in early childhood education has provided me with a broad understanding of developmental stages, as well as insight into common school-related challenges such as social-emotional development, learning differences, and behavioral concerns. This foundation allows me to support children in a way that fosters both academic growth and emotional well-being

My work with families in both educational and mental health settings has enabled me to effectively support parents by helping them understand their child’s emotional and behavioral needs through a developmental lens. I offer guidance on fostering positive communication, strengthening family relationships, and promoting healthy emotional regulation at home
