About My Clients
My clients all have one thing in common -- they want to get back into their bodies. Whether your disconnection from yourself is due to dissociation, childhood abuse, chronic illness, a sports injury or birth trauma, I take a deeply holistic approach to help you feel more integrated.
My Background and Approach
I'm not here to simply teach you "coping skills." Therapy is so much more than that, and I'm in it for the long haul. My approach is to start with radical empathy and an existential framework to connect with you and your lived experience. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Ego State Therapy (parts work) and EMDR therapy primarily, because in my experience these have been most helpful in creating change. We will identify your goals, learn about the brain, talk about the benefits of movement, develop distress tolerance skills that actually work for you, tend to your attachment wounds and reprocess any stuck trauma. I adapt everything for my neurodivergent clients, so you'll never feel like you're trying to fit into a box that's too small.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a white, queer, neurodivergent ciswoman. I love to talk openly about privilege and intersectionality. I do not shy away from conversations about sexism, racism, fatphobia, transphobia, ableism and institutional harm. I am harm-reduction oriented and anti-carceral, and absolutely believe that therapy is political. In my spare time, I'm a weightlifter and a PC gamer (currently 200+ hours into Abiotic Factor). I love to thrift, go to shows, hang out with my cats and spend time outside.
