About My Clients
Are you struggling with feelings of hopelessness or being "not enough?" Experiencing depression, anxiety, self-harm or other mental health challenges can feel incredibly heavy and isolating. My goal is to offer a space of genuine understanding - a place to discover hope, healing and even joy again. My clients are often in periods of stress or transition, navigating relationship struggles, postpartum/ new pregnancy, or managing perfectionism and trauma wounds.
My Background and Approach
My approach is rooted in kindness and curiosity. I understand that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and I deeply respect whatever has led you to take this courageous step. You are the expert of your own story, and my goal is to create a safe space where you can show up as your true self, even if you are still discovering who that is, I understand perfectionism and the pressure of overachievement having first pursued medical school before receiving my MSW at the University of Texas Arlington and training at Capital Area Counseling. Utilizing a person-centered, eclectic approach, I bring my authentic self into the therapy space, creating room for you to explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment. I see each client as unique and strive to meet you where you are, drawing from different types of therapies to best support your needs. I am LGBTQIA+/minority/ neurodivergent affirming.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy can be transformational and also hope it may be a time for you to breathe and deeply connect with another person. Having been in therapy myself, I understand that the experience is often very different for every individual. Together, we will work to make sense of your experiences and encourage growth and healing, so that you might find meaning to live in a way that feels more aligned with who you are. I wholeheartedly believe in collaboration and working together on what is important to you. I hope to support and guide you in a space where you feel genuinely heard, seen, valued and even challenged when helpful. I deeply appreciate the unique experiences each client brings to sessions and honor the differences we may have. I believe that many of our current mental health struggles, such as anxiety, perfectionism, addiction are serving protective or other roles. Bringing compassion and curiosity can help shift the perspective and offer care and healing.
