About My Clients

Do your thoughts spiral out of control, cause you to lose sleep or focus, or feel like something terrible is about to happen? Or maybe you have experienced trauma and are also struggling with sleep, recurring nightmares, flashbacks, feeling like it's all your fault, hypervigilance, negative thoughts, or feeling disconnected from others. If this resonates, we can work together to unpack your story, build new tools to cope, and chart a new path forward that aligns with the person you hope to be.

My Background and Approach

I come to counseling from prior career experience in teaching and wedding planning. These experiences, coupled with my counselor training and experience, have given me perspective and insight to help clients with everyday concerns, as well as stress from big life events across the lifespan. I will walk with you on your counseling journey, helping you build tools and coping skills, and make meaning out of your story and circumstances along the way. Then we'll work towards helping you make choices and changes for the future that align with your values and the person you hope to become. We might utilize EMDR, mindful awareness, or narrative storytelling depending on your needs and how you want to approach therapy at a pace that works for you. I am trained in EMDR from an EMDRIA approved program, and have additional anxiety training to help guide therapy. I view counseling from a collaborative, person-centered, strengths-based, holistic, systemic, and humanistic-existential lens.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I look forward to meeting each client where they are as they work towards their goals on their journeys of self-discovery. My “why” is being able to hold space for people’s stories, with all the highs, lows, and steady times life brings. It is an honor to be trusted with these stories. I am excited to share my belief that mental health is health, and hope to help reduce the stigma around mental health treatment so that more people can find strength in making positive changes in their lives. I am a LGBTGEQIAP+ safe space, have experience working with Veterans, and view the world through a systemic lens. In my free time, you can find me spending time in the sunshine (with copious amounts of sunscreen), curled up with a book on a rainy day, or baking something in my cozy kitchen.
