About My Clients

I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ clients, non-monogamous and kinky adults, sex workers, and those with alternative spiritualities. I am passionately sex-positive and body-positive. I also work with people who have acute diagnoses, and I have experience working with folks who have been involuntarily hospitalized.

My Background and Approach

I understand there is no “one size fits all” approach to counseling, because everyone has their own unique needs and experiences. My values include empathy, acceptance, compassion, and non-judgment. I believe the counseling relationship should be collaborative to ensure we are working to meet your personal needs and goals, and my work draws on a variety of different theories. Some of the prominent modalities I use are Person-Centered, Attachment Theory, Internalized Oppression, Inclusive Feminist and Queer Theory, and Solution-Focused therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that people are not defined by their diagnoses or by the stories written about their past. They describe ways our past and present affect us, but they don't define us. I am passionate about social justice. I use an anti-oppression framework, I am sex-positive, and I believe in Health At Every Size. I am an active member of the LGBTQ+ community, and an intersectional feminist.
