About My Clients

While I have the ability to serve a multitude of intersectionally diverse populations, I have a specific focus on the trans and queer populations, specifically teens. I also work with those struggling in their relationship with substances.

My Background and Approach

I would describe my approach to therapy as informed by intersectionality as well as liberatory. I root my theoretical orientation in the person-centered approach and truly believe in the power of stepping into our own authenticity. In addition to counseling, I am an adjunct professor at the College of Charleston in their Gender Studies Program. In the past, I have had the opportunity to live in both East and West Africa, working on advocacy and research on gender rights. I have also had the opportunity to work for the United Nations in Bonn, Germany. I have enjoyed a 20+ year rugby career that has taken me from the pitch into advocacy for trans inclusion in the sport. While it has been a humbling journey so far, nothing has compared to working with individuals who are on their own journey of self discovery. I find myself consistently in awe of the bravery and willingness of my clients to create lives of joy for themselves. It is truly humbling to walk beside them on the path.
