About My Clients

My clients are ready to show up for themselves in a radical way, and define for themselves what a healthy and fulfilling sex life looks like. They may be in a monogamous couple looking to tackle a specific challenge in the relationship, or they may be looking for a safe and supportive place to explore their sexuality or gender identity. It’s my goal to break down the barriers that get in the way of sexual pleasure and give you the tools to build the intimacy you’ve always desired.

My Background and Approach

In my practice, I like to observe with curiosity. I encourage you to notice and take stock of non-verbals, such as exploring the meaning behind a deep breath or a weary sigh. I do this with the goal of strengthening the mind-body connection, and helping my clients to embody pleasure. Much of my practice draws on the Gottman method, in which I have a Level 2 qualification. Something that makes the Gottman method so powerful is that it’s designed to help you learn and practice the skills you need to communicate with love, care, and understanding. The goal is to build a metaphorical toolbox that you can then reach for at any time. I am a first-generation college graduate with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Florida, and a Master’s in Professional Counseling from the University of Georgia. At the core of my work is development of connection, communication, and self-empowerment. For this reason, I aspire to learn from my clients as much as I aid them on their journeys.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a sex therapist, my passions and specializations are within the realm of race, sexuality, gender, ethical non-monogamy, and pleasure. I wholeheartedly believe in pleasure activism – the idea that humans are not meant to live in a constant state of suffering. I use this framework as my guiding principle, encouraging clients to embrace and hold sacred what is pleasurable for them. Do I work with asexual and aromantic clients, or clients exploring an ace/aro identity? Absolutely! The language around sex therapy can often seem exclusionary of asexuality, and sometimes even pushes the idea that a lack of sexual desire is a problem to be fixed. I do not take that approach in my practice. If you’d like to get to know me a little bit more, I have a podcast called The Sex & Podcast (pronounced “The Sex And Podcast”) where guests and I share stories about how mental and physical health challenges affect sexual wellness.
