I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate, working toward the final tier of the licensure process. I work with clients of all ages, especially with children, young adults, and families. My approach to treatment involves a holistic, strengths-based modality, utilizing mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy & family systems.
My approach to therapy is to help individuals become more aware of their strengths, and their limitations. I teach new techniques to incorporate into one's daily life, to help manage these inevitable obstacles. Growth and healing aren't linear, though it would be ideal if they were. With a teamwork approach, one is able to start this process. We all have strengths within us that we may or may not be aware of. The fact that you are viewing this page right now tells me that. My personal beliefs can be partially summarized with the following dichotomous mantra of "I can be better, but I am also good enough." What this means is that each day, I strive, both on an individual and a professional basis, to learn more and become more aware about various essential causes. This includes the LGBTQ community, racial injustice, suicidality, and so many others domains. However, it is also important to remember the "I am good enough" piece, as this involves accepting and loving who you are, and who others are as their true selves.
