About My Clients
I like to take a person-centered, humanistic approach to help clients reach their goals and fullest potential. I am working with mostly children and adolescents while working with young adults and adults when possible. I work with many different presenting concerns including anxiety, stress, depression, everyday stressors, and more. I have experience working with trauma and domestic/sexual violence as well.
My Background and Approach
I am originally from Wisconsin and came to Illinois and earned my master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University and my bachelor's in Psychology from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, with a minor in Public Relations. I offer evening hours during the week and Saturday hours as well. I offer a sliding scale and am currently working with clients without insurance. I like to offer a welcoming, non-judgmental, and safe space that changes with each client to ensure the client's needs are being met.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Reaching out for help is often the hardest part and each client is different in their own ways. My therapeutic approach is a collaborative process in which the client takes the driver's seat, as they know their life better than anyone else. I will be in the passenger seat guiding you along and will be there for the support you need. I decided to pursue my dream of being a therapist because our own minds can sometimes be our worst enemies and add daily life stressors into the mix..life isn't always simple and easy. I want to help clients sort through the messiness of life and help them get back on track to their goals and dreams while encouraging positive self-growth, self-image, and self-esteem.
