About My Clients
Mayb you feel overwhelmed trying to juggle it all; work, relationships, children, and everything in between. Life moves fast, and the endless list of tasks can leave you emotionally drained and disconnected from yourself. My hope is to create a compassionate, safe, and curious therapeutic environment for clients to better connect to themselves as they reflect on their past wounds. Clients I have worked with commonly feel more connected to their bodies and feel empowered towards healing.
My Background and Approach
As a trauma-informed counselor, I specialize in working with adults using a psychodynamic lens and ego state work to explore the parts of ourselves shaped by early wounds or protective patterns. I am trained in: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Ego state therapy Expressive modalities including art, writing, and sand tray for inner child healing I commonly support adults navigating: Anxiety and anxiety disorders Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) Complex PTSD and PTSD
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that health care is for everybody and that everybody deserves the opportunity to heal. Growing up in Christian circles, I struggled with undiagnosed OCD and anxiety around morality that induced a great amount of shame. As I walked through my own journey of EMDR therapy and healing, I learned how many faulty and harmful beliefs contributed to the way I saw myself and the world. As a therapist, I strive to provide a safe environment for all as the political landscape of our country has very harmful and destructive rhetoric around marginalized groups of people. I hope to help clients heal from religious/spiritual trauma and to deconstruct/reconstruct aspects faith in healthy ways or to explore what values outside of faith look like for clients.
