About My Clients
I am passionate about cultivating relationships and supporting clients in building satisfying & meaningful relationships for themselves. I am particularly interested in working with couples struggling w/intimacy issues, communication challenges, & healing after infidelity. I believe relationships are a core aspect of emotional wellness & my goal is help client's work through difficulties in interpersonal relationships by building self-awareness, increasing empathy & strengthening communication.
My Background and Approach
I received my BA from the University of WA & my MA in Clinical Psychology w/Emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. As a millennial professional, my clinical focus is just that: millennial professionals looking to enhance their relationships & lives. I utilize a person-centered approach to tailor therapeutic interventions based on client's needs. I believe every client is unique & I take the time to understand who they are & what they need before anything else. I gravitate towards a psychodynamic orientation to understand client's background and experiences that have shaped who they are today, and a cognitive-behavioral approach to equip clients with powerful coping tools. I believe an important component of therapy is utilizing skills from session in the real-world, & I encourage my clients to do this through readings, worksheet exercises, journaling, & more.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a human, I value empathy, kindness, authenticity, and trust. As a therapist, I value the same. I am very intentional in providing an safe, warm space for my clients to be heard. I utilize my innate empathy skills and my authenticity to build strong rapport with clients so to use our relationship as a vehicle for change. I believe that the most important factor in therapy is the therapeutic relationship, & that is why I love therapy. It's my client & me, working through challenges, overcoming difficulties, & working towards empowerment.
