About My Clients
Are you struggling to navigate life's stressors and transitions? Do you sometimes struggle with figuring out how to stay true to yourself while navigating life's demands? Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed and are not sure which path to head down? I hear you. Navigating through this world can be challenging, and we all need support and guidance from time to time. My goal is to help clients better understand their thoughts and emotions, as well as to live a fulfilling and authentic life.
My Background and Approach
The principles that guide my therapeutic approach are empathy, genuineness, and lack of judgement. I am very casual and conversational in my style, and I often use humor to increase a sense of ease. I believe that there is no "one size fits all" approach to therapy. I have training in a variety of treatment approaches, which allows me to individually tailor treatment to meet the specific needs of my clients. I recognize that not every tool will work for every person, and I aim to ensure that you have a variety of techniques to pull from when in distress. Additionally, I approach therapy from the standpoint that you are the expert in your own experience, and I am here to help support and guide you in achieving your goals. I find that collaboration and the therapeutic relationship are of utmost importance, so that we can work together to meet your goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in social justice. I believe in equality. I believe in science. I believe that past mistakes don't necessarily define who we are, and that we can make changes to better ourselves and the world. I am an ally. I am a lover of animals. I am a lover of all things Halloween, and think it should be a national holiday. I grew up listening to the Riot Grrrl genre, and my hair has been nearly every color. I think that our experiences, both positive and negative, inform who we are as people and how we view the world. I believe that meaningful change is possible and I hope to help you on your path to make those changes. I look forward to connecting!
