About My Clients

I work with couples, families, and individuals navigating conflict, disconnection, and relational stress that has become hard to manage alone. My clients are thoughtful and self-aware. They have tried to handle things on their own and are ready for a structured, direct approach that produces real change.

My Background and Approach

I have worked as a clinical social worker for over ten years across private practice, residential behavioral health, and hospice care. I currently serve as Clinical Director of a residential substance use treatment program and previously led a bereavement program in hospice care. That experience informs how I work in private practice. I have spent years in high-pressure clinical environments where vague, open-ended intervention was not an option. That orientation carries into my work with couples and families. Sessions are focused and purposeful. My approach is grounded in family systems thinking. When a couple keeps having the same argument or a family keeps returning to the same crisis point, I am asking what is sustaining the pattern, not just what happened. That understanding is what makes change possible. I am licensed in Massachusetts and Vermont and offer telehealth sessions statewide.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe most people who come to therapy are not broken. They are caught in patterns that made sense at some point and have stopped working. The goal of therapy is not to fix something wrong with a person but to understand what is sustaining the pattern and build something more functional in its place. I believe therapy should be purposeful. Sessions should feel like work, not just conversation. People deserve a process that moves with intention and produces observable change, not indefinite support without a clear direction. I believe the therapeutic relationship matters, but it is not the whole picture. What happens outside the therapy room is where change actually takes root. My job is to make those changes possible and sustainable. I believe people are more capable of change than they often give themselves credit for. Most of the time, what they need is clarity, structure, and a direct approach that respects their intelligence and their capacity to do hard things.
