About My Clients
Many of us were raised to believe that being honest about what we need or how we feel is "selfish." Worse, some learn that to talk about these things is a sign of weakness or an invitation to be criticized, punished, or rejected. Wrong. Whether you're struggling with relationships, feeling unsatisfied in your work life, worried that you don't belong, or stuck in your own head, seeking therapy is a courageous act of self-care.
My Background and Approach
I provide a nonjudgmental space to help you explore the story of your life. Together, we will find new ways to understand your story, heal old hurts, and make meaning of your past and present. I'll help you learn to care for yourself the way you care for others and recognize your capacity for growth and change, empowering you to build a more rewarding life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Everyone deserves to be happy and fulfilled, even if the world sometimes seems to suggest otherwise. Injustice, oppression, and violence exist in the world and we cannot dismiss their impact on each of our lives. However, in all but the most extreme circumstances, we can make meaningful change by focusing on small, attainable steps within our sphere of influence, building community and support networks, investing in our physical and mental fitness and resilience, and learning about our unique "buttons", sensitivities, and triggers so that we can better protect and care for ourselves.
