About My Clients
Are you struggling with constant thoughts of food guilt and body shame? Maybe you’ve noticed that others seem to go through life without these thoughts and it’s left you feeling angry, jealous, and confused. You’ve tried everything to make the thoughts stop and nothing has worked, and now you’re left wondering if it will ever get better. You want to get help but you don’t know where to turn. I see you. I know how exhausted and overwhelmed you're feeling. But know that recovery is possible!
My Background and Approach
My clients often describe me as warm and relationship-oriented, while still being direct and willing to challenge them. My primary focus is to create and maintain a space where my clients feel safe, respected, and understood. In our sessions, you should always feel free to speak openly - no topics are off limits. I’m someone who will frequently check-in to make sure that I’m tracking what you’re saying, and I will often ask about what you are thinking and feeling in the moment as we talk about hard things. I’m very emotion-focused and enjoy helping clients sit with and work through difficult feelings. Together, we'll explore how and why these concerns started, develop better coping strategies to manage negative thoughts and triggers, shift your mindset to be more compassionate and recovery-oriented, and improve your eating and movement habits.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm an openly gay man and I'm passionate about supporting other members of the community. I'm also size-affirming and committed to promoting social justice and anti-racism.
