About My Clients

I work with competitive youth and high school athletes in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and the greater Arizona Valley who are performing below their ability under pressure. My clients are talented, hardworking athletes dealing with performance anxiety, mental blocks, the yips, slumps, fear of reinjury, or loss of enjoyment in their sport. Parents of athletes who are struggling are also welcome. Virtual sessions via PSYPACT telehealth.

My Background and Approach

I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology and the Certified Mental Performance Coach credential through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. Before building my virtual practice, I spent years embedded in a sports medicine clinic alongside athletic trainers and physicians, which shaped an approach that is practical and sport-informed rather than generic. My work begins with an honest assessment of what is specifically limiting your athlete — not a one-size-fits-all framework. Sessions identify exactly what is happening cognitively and behaviorally in the moments before and during competition, clarify why it is happening, and build systematic, testable mental skills your athlete can apply immediately. Most programs involve four to five focused sessions. Between sessions, I remain directly accessible by call or text. The goal is for athletes to leave with skills they own — not a long-term dependency on ongoing appointments

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe the mental side of sport is trainable, not a fixed trait you have or don't have. Confidence, composure under pressure, concentration, and resilience are skills that can be developed just like physical skills. Athletes are not broken when they struggle. They are talented people who have not been given the right tools for the specific demands of competitive performance. I believe athletes deserve a provider who genuinely understands their world, the culture of toughness that discourages asking for help, the identity that is built around sport, and the very real pressure of competing in front of coaches, scouts, and teammates. A therapist who has never been inside competitive sport often misses these dynamics entirely. Finally, I believe that access matters. Providers should not have a months-long waitlist while your season and concerns move forward without support. Every client has my direct phone number. When it matters most,I am reachable. That is not standard in this field.
