About My Clients
Are you always a little bit afraid that an anxiety attack is waiting around the corner? Have you been hit with surprise anxiety more times than you can count? I know exactly what you're feeling: the pounding chest, the shortness of breath, the feeling that the walls are closing in and you need out NOW. My Background and Approach
Matthew Gordon MSW, LCSW is a Masters of Social Work graduate of Arizona State University (2009) with 15 years of experience in the mental health field. He is an Air Force Veteran, the son of a Vietnam Veteran, and has worked as a Social Worker for the Department of Veteran Affairs for the great majority of his professional career. He has approximately 10 years experience working with adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues. He also has experience helping clients to address depression and anxiety through Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). He has specialized extensive experience in the treatment of substance use disorders. He has familiarity working with clients with PTSD and other stress-related disorders to include racial-trauma. He has deep respect for those who are willing to participate in the process of growth and development.
