Survivors of suicide loss. It hurts. You feel like you're hurting alone, but you know you're not. You feel like you're responsible in some way, but you know you're not. Everyday, you worry and mull over questions like "Why?" and "What if...?". You've lost someone before, but not like this. Losing someone to death by suicide feels intense because it is. You're still alive, and maybe even that alone makes you feel guilty. We know what it's like. Verve is grieving with you.

We can't change the past, but we can change how we feel about the past. This form of treatment "makes neuroplasticity happen", meaning that we can actually use your brain to change your brain. AEDP safely works with emotional experiences in the here-and-now of the present moment from the understanding that we can heal and transform our life by leaning into our emotions instead of avoiding them.

This is a cognitive form of treatment that is focused on four core skill groups which are meant to help people "live a life worth living". These four core skill groups include mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. The three most destructive words that every man receives when he was a boy is when he's told to "Be a Man". You've learned to wear the mask you live in to hide your emotions, and it can be harmful. It can be personally & socially injurious AND men have learned to avoid emotions because that's what many traditional ideals of masculinity have taught us to do. It hurts. Experiences of grief may vary although it's common to experience "The Five Stages of Grief" like Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance.
