My Background and Approach

My modern and inclusive approach to therapy is personalized, integrative, and emotionally focused on helping you feel seen, heard, and understood. Our work is collaborative, and you can expect us to become partners while we safely guide you through to maximize and promote mental health & wellness. My professional background includes 8 years of experience working in outpatient and inpatient community mental health agencies, criminal justice and juvenile justice rehabilitation programs, and also in group private practice. I'm a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the New York State Society for Clinical Social Work. I earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Social Work degree from New York University Silver School of Social Work.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Verve Psychotherapy is a modern and inclusive mental health practice for busy New Yorkers & busy Georgians. We help you feel seen, heard, and understood while holding space to empower your verve. Clients need personalized therapy, and we provide it for each and every client. As a modern and inclusive mental health practice that provides clinical social work services, we signed the Anti-Racist Small Business Pledge as one actionable way that we can live up to our values, which are intentionally adopted from the same core values of NASW. So, NASW Values = Our Values: Service, Social Justice, Dignity and Worth of the Person, Importance of Human Relationships, Integrity, and Competence. We celebrate the strengths and center the needs of people with marginalized identities. Also, if you are "White Like Me" and you would like to overcome "White Fragility" to use your power and privilege with integrity (e.g. become anti-racist), then we invite you to connect with us for a free consultation.
