About My Clients
I take a client-centered approach. My first goal is to truly get to know and understand the factors that brought you into therapy. I think without taking the time to listen, some of the most important factors of someone’s story can be missed. I aim to create a safe and supportive environment while also keeping it fun to help you feel more relaxed and at ease. My connection with you is my top priority for us to get into the “work” of therapy.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in the mental health field for around 20 years helping individuals overcome challenges. Along with individual therapy, he also ran groups providing education and support on issues ranging from common life stressors to severe mental illnesses, and provided supervision as a director and clinical supervisor. Matt utilizes an eclectic approach of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic approaches, Motivational Interviewing, and Gottman Method couples counseling.
