About My Clients
The clients I serve are typically experiencing some level of distress in their personal or relationship life. They feel disconnected and “stuck,” not knowing which direction to go. I often hear phrases like “I keep repeating old habits and it feels like a cycle I can’t get out of.” If this sounds like you, I have confidence I can come alongside you in your personal life or relationships and provide guidance you are looking for.
My Background and Approach
I work with couples, individuals, and teens to help reach deeper levels of compassion for ourselves and others, and bring connection where there has been disconnect. My approach looks at the entire ecosystem a person lives in, rather than looking at only the isolated individual. I strive to understand that all people are shaped by our backgrounds, which gives me tremendous compassion for people from many situations. This allows me to connect with all my clients in a non-judgemental way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a counselor, my first goal is to meet people exactly where they are when coming to counseling. I take the approach of Brené Brown that, “Rarely can a response make something better; what makes it better is connection.” I prioritize connecting with all of my clients before looking to give any insight or direction. I have seen many occasions where simply connecting with clients and giving them a safe space to process their situations out loud, opens the door for them to discover solutions on their own. I have also seen the impact of providing guidance and direction once I have established a relationship with you. In my personal life I am a husband and dad to a young daughter and have two dogs. I am a Christian, and these beliefs form the foundation for the counseling work I do, even if faith does not come up during our meetings. I hope to bring grace and compassion to all of my counseling work, and restore peace into the lives of my clients.
