About My Clients
My ideal clients are motivated and committed adults who have experienced childhood abuse, trauma, challenging relationships, depression, and anxiety and it still affects their lives; which is now known as Complex PTSD. CPTSD is often a result of insecure attachment with parents or caregivers during childhood which also manifests as CODEPENDENCY and LOVE ADDICTION. I offer tools to manage stress and daily challenges. I provide INDIVIDUAL therapy only (NO COUPLES OR FAMILY).
My Background and Approach
I have had great success with clients who need more than just traditional "talk therapy". I incorporate mind-body techniques, such as Hypnosis/Guided Meditation; tapping (EFT); Ketamine Assisted Therapy (in the future also MDMA and psilocybin) art therapy, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). NLP is an approach that focuses on the subconscious mind by studying brain neurology and linguistics. In addition to being a Marriage and Family Therapist, I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and a Professional Life Coach and received my training from the Institute for Life Coach Training which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation. My most effective service is hypnosis. I have been doing hypnosis for anxiety and stress for 20 years and recently. I specialize in medical hypnosis. I am ICBCH Certified Professional Hypnotist. Prior to my private practice, I worked with several prominent agencies in Miami and Broward County. I offer virtual sessions in both FL and NY.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all deserve human rights and be treated with respect regardless of religion, gender, politics, and socioeconomic status. I am an immigrant from Slovenia and over the course of my 20-year clinical practice worked with many immigrants, as well as people from different walks of life. I have studied many religions including Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Shamanism, and have had regular meditation and spiritual practice. My grandmother was a devout Roman Catholic however since my mom was in a Communist party growing up, I grew up as an atheist until my early 30's when I moved to the US and explored spirituality and I am familiar with 12 steps. I believe in compassion and kindness for all and follow many spiritual teachers including Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Khan, and Mariane Williamson.
