About My Clients
Have you ever felt like you don’t belong? Are you shy? Do you feel anxious when trying to make new friends or in social settings? Do you self-identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community? Would you like to explore how to communicate with others more effectively? Are you interested in exploring polyamory, consensual non-monogamy, or kink? I may be the therapist for you.
My Background and Approach
I provide eclectic, inclusive, and affirmative psychotherapy. My primary area of focus is finding out who you are and helping you recognize the strengths and abilities you already have, along with exploring ones you would like to grow and develop. Eclectic therapy is about selectively applying techniques from a variety of approaches to best fit each clients needs. I practice long-term talk therapy, where we take our time to explore issues as they come up for you; whether it be the ‘issue of the week,’ a themed exploration, an interaction with a friend, partner, or family member, or a recurrent source of distress. I also incorporate elements of other modalities into my practice, including but not limited to: goals/objectives, psychoeducation, thought reframing, mindfulness, awareness/acceptance, interpersonal relations, and more as they apply to your unique needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My values as a therapist are to offer a sustainable and consistent framework for clients to build trust, strength, and worth within themselves and for themselves. I offer psychotherapy services to all people. One way I do this, for example, is through decentering white, heterosexual, monocentric, ableist, and cisgender perspectives. Your individual experiences and the intersection of your identities are a priority. I explore identity and identity development with all clients. Inclusive therapy addresses external forces that have impacted you which also include cultural, social, and economic factors. I provide LGBTQ Affirmative, BIPOC Affirmative, CNM Affirming, and Kink Affirming therapies.
