About My Clients
Anxiety, trauma, and emotional eating can leave you feeling out of control and drain your energy. I enjoy working with people struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional eating and trauma as well as work and relationship stress. I strive to help my clients gain freedom from the patterns and symptoms that trap them to be able to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life. Every client I work with is a resourceful and resilient individual, and my approach helps to uncover their strengths.
My Background and Approach
My approach is client centered, empathic, collaborative and active. I capitalize on your strengths in my work. Over the years I have refined a wide variety of tools to help you meet your goals. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, emotional freedom technique, and mindfulness and acceptance based approaches.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that our bodies and minds have an innate capacity to heal themselves, and that therapy’s job is to harness this innate ability. I believe that unprocessed trauma or disturbing events are responsible for a majority of mental health struggles, and it is a spiritual as well as a psychological journey to overcome and heal our trauma. I believe in giving the power to my client and don’t believe in one size fits all approaches. As a white heterosexual woman, I am aware of my privilege and I strive to deepen my understanding of experiences different from mine. I do my part to heal inequities by contributing to causes of fair housing and environmental justice. In my spare time I love hiking, seeing my friends in a socially distant way, and spending time with my family.
