About My Clients
I have a particular interest in working with clients experiencing life transitions in their career and interpersonal relationships. My own background includes working with highly creative individuals, and I encourage clients to bring their creative work into the therapeutic process.
My Background and Approach
The stories we tell about ourselves can be complicated. Often times, how we see ourselves is based on how others see us, on societal expectations, or assumptions rooted in the past. I work with clients to help engage curiosity and exploration, detangling behaviors and feelings that get in the way of the life and relationships they desire. I believe the problems we face can actually serve as an important catalyst for achieving the things we value most in our lives. In session, we will work together to create new meaning, generating change when needed and exploring what all is possible.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I graduated with a bachelors from Mount Holyoke College, a private women’s liberal arts college in Western Massachusetts that is the oldest of the Seven Sisters schools. I double majored in Art History and Writing & the Moving Image. I have worked in the film industry for most of my career as a development executive, and later as a film curator. Fueled by my interest in personal narratives and storytelling, I returned to school to study Clinical Psychology, and I graduated with a masters degree from Antioch University Los Angeles. I currently work in private practice, and I remain passionate about the intrinsic power that comes when re-writing one’s story.
