About My Clients
I work with adolescents, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship or family difficulties, life transitions, and concerns related to identity and self-esteem. I also have a particular interest in working with clients navigating cultural identity, family expectations, acculturation, and the experience of balancing different cultural worlds. My goal is to create a space where you can better understand what you're experiencing, build insight, and develop practical too
My Background and Approach
I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) and Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) with training in a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches. My approach is grounded in humanistic, person-centered, and psychodynamic perspectives, with an emphasis on creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. I believe that our past experiences and relationships can shape the ways we understand ourselves, relate to others, and respond to challenges. In therapy, we can explore these patterns and develop a deeper understanding of what may be happening beneath the surface, while also working on practical ways to navigate the concerns you're facing today. I view therapy as a collaborative process and tailor our work to your individual needs, goals, and pace.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Having lived in and navigated multiple cultures, I understand how culture, family, identity, and expectations can shape the way we experience ourselves and our relationships. I have a particular interest in working with Arab and Muslim clients and with individuals navigating the complexities of bicultural or multicultural identities. I recognize that mental health does not exist separately from the communities, families, cultures, and beliefs that are important to us. I strive to create a warm, respectful space where clients can explore these parts of themselves openly—whether that means navigating family expectations, cultural differences, faith, relationships, or figuring out where they fit between different worlds.
